Registration Fees
Registration fees are $30.00 per family, per season and are non-refundable. This fee is payable upon registration to hold a dancer's spot in the class.

Parent Questions or Concerns
Registration fees are $30.00 per family, per season and are non-refundable. This fee is payable upon registration to hold a dancer's spot in the class.
Tuition
- Tuition will not be prorated, refunded or credited for missed classes or snow days. Tuition stays the same regardless whether there are 3, 4, or 5 weeks of class in a month. Tuition is determined by 36 total dance weeks plus recital and rehearsals equaling 40 total lessons divided by 4 giving us 10 equal payments due the first week of each month.
- Tuition Discounts:
- Multi-student families: families who register a second student will receive a 10% discount on total tuition for their second student. Applicable only to students under 18 years of age.
- Multi-class: students who are registered for a Technique and Choreography 1-4, Intro to Dance Ages 4-5, or Intro to Dance Ages 8-12 class are eligible to receive 50% off tuition for 1 of these 3 classes: Kids Capoeira, Musical Theater/Tap 1-4, and Tumbling 1-4.
- Adult Classes: Adult students (18 years+) who register for a second class will receive 50% off tuition for the second class.
- Tuition Cap: All students will be capped at $230.00 monthly tuition for any additional classes. Excluding Performance Company Routines Rehearsals.
- Tuition Discounts:
- Tuition will only be accepted via the Tuition Box or Dance Studio Pro.
- NO PAYPAL OR VENMO will be accepted.
- Tuition that has not been paid by the 14th of the month will be given a late fee of $10.00. Students will not be permitted to dance if accounts are not current.
- 5% discount for tuition paid semi-annually and 10% discount for tuition paid annually.
- All returned checks will be subject to a $30.00 fee which will be added to the student’s balance on the portal, DanceStudio-Pro.
Recital Performance
- There will be an annual Season Ending Recital that will take place in June.
- Recital requires at least one group routine per class but can include up to 4 group routines per class.
- If a student or their parent/guardian do not wish to participate in the recital, this must be communicated in writing to the Administrative Director by January 15th. Otherwise parents/guardians will be responsible for photoshoot and costume fees.
- Costume Fees- Costume fees start at $60.00 per costume for group routines and are determined based on the number of routines a dancer is in. Costume fees cover any rhinestoning and alterations. Costumes are kept by the dancer after the recital is over.
- Fees are posted to student accounts on January 30th, 2025. Costume fees must be paid in full by June 1st, 2025.
- Costume fees are Non-Refundable.
- Photoshoot Fees- The week before recital all students are required to participate in the recital photoshoot for a $50.00 fee per student. This fee covers all group routines for all classes a student is registered for. Parents/Guardians will be able to access/download all digital photos of their students.
- If parents/guardians would like individual shots of their child or shots of siblings together in their recital costumes it is an additional $5.00 per routine costume per student.
- Photoshoot fees are posted to student accounts on January 30th, 2025. Photoshoot fees must be paid in full by June 1st, 2025.
- Photoshoot fees are Non-Refundable.
Technique and Choreography 2, 3 & 4
- Once a student receives a placement in a Technique and Choreography 2, 3, and 4, it is mandatory to register for all of the Jazz, Ballet, and Choreography classes for that level. Dancer’s are not allowed to take just a Ballet Technique class or just a Jazz Technique class.
- Example: When placed into Technique and Choreography 3 the dancer must register for Ballet Tech 3, Jazz Tech 3, and Choreo 3.
Solos/Duets
- Solos: Students in Technique and Choreography 1 and higher are eligible to perform a solo in recital.
- Solo fee is $150.00 to set choreography. Solo fees are posted to student accounts on January 30th, 2025 and must be paid in full by June 1st, 2025.
- It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to schedule time with the choreographer to set the solo choreography.
- It is the responsibility of the dancer to know their choreography once it is set with the choreographer.
- Parents/guardians may schedule their dancer for solo cleaning classes for $10.00 per cleaning class.
- Costume fees for solos start at $75.00. This fee includes any rhinestoning and alterations. Costume is kept by the dancer after the recital is over.
- Costume fees are posted to student accounts on January 30th, 2025 and must be paid in full by June 1st, 2025.
- Costume fees are Non-Refundable.
- Solo photos are included in the recital photoshoot.
- Duets: Students in Technique and Choreography 1 and higher are eligible to perform a duet in recital.
- Duets are $100.00 per student to set choreography. Duet fees are posted on January 30th, 2025 and must be paid in full by June 1st, 2025.
- It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to schedule time with the choreographer to set the duet choreography.
- It is the responsibility of the dancers to know their choreography once it is set with the choreographer.
- Parents/guardians may schedule their dancer for duet cleaning classes for $10.00 per cleaning class.
- Costume fees for duets start at $75.00. This fee includes any rhinestoning and alterations. Costume is kept by the dancer after the recital is over.
- Costume fees are posted on January 30th, 2025 and must be paid in full by June 1st, 2025.
- Costume fees are Non-Refundable.
- Duet photos are included in the recital photoshoot.
Performance Company:
- Performance Company is for students who wish to dance competitively and is audition ONLY.
- Dancers must be placed in AND registered for a Technique and Choreography 1-4 class to be eligible for auditions.
- Dancers accepted into the Performance Company are required to register for the Performance Company Routine Rehearsal. The monthly tuition for Routine Rehearsal is dependent on the number of routines a dancer is casted for.
- Performance Company will compete in 3 competitions in the Metro-Detroit area, held during the spring, and perform in the season ending recital.
- Matching competition jackets are required and parents/guardians will be responsible for the cost.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for all Performance Costume fees due by December 1st, 2024.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for all competition fees due by February 1st, 2025.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for all solo/duet fees due June 1st, 2025.
Private Lessons
- Fun Girl Students are eligible to schedule private lessons with any available teachers.
- Private lessons are $60/hr with Fun Girl teachers or $75/hr with the Artistic Director.
- It is the responsibility of the parents/guardians to schedule the private lesson with the teacher/Artistic Director.
Scholarships
- Fun Girl provides our students with the opportunity to apply for scholarships. Awarding of scholarships are determined by the Artistic Director.
- Bend and Snap: Is awarded to 1 student per semester to cover the cost of a Technique and Choreography class. All other classes are not eligible.
- More than 2 absences per semester, in any enrolled class, will result in the loss of the scholarship.
- Lola Step: Is awarded to 1 student per season and covers the cost of 1 solo and 1 solo costume.
- More than 2 absences per semester, in any class, will result in the loss of the scholarship.
Attendance
- Students are allotted 2 unexcused absences per semester.
- Any absence or early departure from class must be communicated BEFORE class with the Artistic and Administrative Directors.
- Students who have more than 4 unexcused absences before June 1st will be moved to an understudy position in one group routines.
- Students who have more than 4 unexcused absences before June 1st will not be eligible for a scholarship the following season.
- Exceptions can be reviewed when illness or school related functions are communicated with the Artistic and Administrative Directors BEFORE class.
- Students who miss more than 3 classes in a row will automatically be unenrolled from Fun Girl Dance School.
- Students are subject to another registration fee to re-enroll.
- Four weeks prior to the season ending recital attendance is mandatory.
- Tech nights and dress rehearsal for the season ending recital are mandatory.
- Students who miss tech nights or dress rehearsal will be pulled from all of their routines.
- No refunds for any costume, solo, or duet fees.
- NO REFUNDS for missed classes or early departures.
Class Placement
- Students will be placed in a class that is most suited for their skill set and past training. We want to make the learning environment conducive for each child
Class Withdrawal
- If a student must withdraw from classes, please notify the Administrative Director in writing immediately and withdraw from the online portal.
- Class withdrawals will not be accepted after March 1st. Financial responsibility is required for March – June tuition and all costume fees.
- No refunds for current month withdrawals.
Extreme Weather Cancellations
- All weather cancellations will be determined by 2:30 pm on the day.
- These will be communicated via email and text.
Class Cancellations
- Fun Girl has the right to combine, change times, and provide substitute or replace, and cancel or combine any classes with 5 or less students. All decisions are made by the Artistic Director.
Scheduled Closures
- Halloween: Thursday, October 31st, 2024
- Fall Break: Sunday, November 24th -Sunday, December 1st, 2024
- Winter Break: Sunday, December 22nd, 2024 - Sunday, January 5th, 2025
- MLK Day: Monday, January 20th, 2025
- Spring Break: Sunday, March 23rd, 2025-Sunday, March 30th, 2025
- Memorial Day: Monday, May 26th, 2025 (A make-up class will be held on Friday, May 30th, 2025 at the normally scheduled class times.
Dress Code;
- Creative Movement and Intro to Dance classes:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class starts.
- Comfortable clothing to move in; sweat pants, t-shirts, formal dance wear dresses/skirts, leotards, unitards, shorts, leggings, crewneck sweatshirts. NO- jeans, street-wear dresses/skirts, hooded tops, or baggy sweatpants/sweatshirts. Students will not be allowed to attend class if not in proper attire.
- No shoe requirement.
- Tumbling 1,2,3,4:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class starts.
- Comfortable fitting clothing; bike shorts, leggings, fitted tops, sports bras, leotards, unitards, fitted sweatpants and crewneck sweatshirts. NO- jeans, dresses/skirts, hooded tops, or baggy sweatpants/sweatshirts. Students will not be allowed to attend class if not in proper attire.
- No shoe requirement.
- Musical Theatre 1,2,3,4:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class starts.
- Comfortable clothing to move in; joggers, t-shirts, formal dance wear dresses/skirts, leotards, unitards, shorts, leggings, and crewneck sweatshirts. NO- jeans, street-wear dresses/skirts, hooded tops, or baggy sweatpants/sweatshirts. Students will not be allowed to attend class if not in proper attire.
- Shoes: Jill Jazz shoes from So Dança and black tap shoes (no Mary Janes). Students will not be allowed to attend class without the required footwear.
- Kid and Adult Capoeira:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class starts.
- Clothing: Yellow t-shirt and black pants.
- Shoes: Feiyue Shoes
- Technique and Choreography 1,2,3,4:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class starts.
- Form fitted clothing; bike shorts, leggings, sports bras, fitted tops, leotards, unitards, formal dance wear dresses/skirts. NO- jeans,street-wear dresses/skirts, hooded tops, or baggy sweatpants/sweatshirts. Students will not be allowed to attend class if not in proper attire.
- Shoes: Jill Jazz shoes from So Dança in the students skin tone and ballet slippers are required. Students will not be allowed to attend class without the required footwear.
- Performance Company:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class starts.
- Form fitted clothing; bike shorts, leggings, sports bras, fitted tops, leotards, unitards, formal dance wear dresses/skirts. NO- jeans, street-wear dresses/skirts, hooded tops, or baggy sweatpants/sweatshirts. Students will not be allowed to attend class if not in proper attire.
- Shoes: Jill Jazz shoes from So Dança in the students skin tone are required. Students will not be allowed to attend class without the required footwear.
- Adult Classes:
- Hair must be secured off the face BEFORE class.
- Comfortable clothing to move in; sweatpants, t-shirts, formal dance wear dresses/skirts, leotards, unitards, shorts, leggings, and crewneck sweatshirts. NO- jeans, street-wear dresses/skirts, hooded tops, or baggy sweatpants/sweatshirts.
- Shoe Requirements:
- Beginning Ballet: Ballet slippers suggested but not required
- Beginning Tap: Black tap shoes
- Musical Theater Company: Black jazz shoes
- Tap Company: Black tap shoes
- Adult Contemporary: no requirement
Personal Devices:
- Fun Girl acknowledges the sense of safety a smartwatch or cell phone can provide for our parents and guardians. But, students will be asked to place all personal devices in a bucket before class starts. Devices will not be given back during water/snack breaks. These breaks are for socializing with peers.
- In the event of an emergency students will be given their personal device back.
Observance
- Absolutely no parent viewing within the classrooms is permitted unless approved by the Artistic Director.
- While seating is limited, parents and family members are welcome to wait in our lobby for their student’s class to end.
Care of the Students
- Fun Girl is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. When one class ends, another starts; staff are not responsible for watching the students once the class is dismissed.
- Students are NOT permitted to wait outside for rides. Guardians must come into the studio lobbies to pick up their students.
Behavior
- Negative behavior will not be tolerated. The studio is designed to create a positive environment for students, parents, and instructors.
Injuries
- Parents, legal guardians, of minor students and adult students waive the right to any legal action of any injury sustained on Fun Girl's time, and property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by students before, during, or after class times, performances etc.
Studio News
- All studio news will be posted on the website user portal. Our main goal is to strive to keep you up to date with any studio news and events. Please make sure to check the portal often. Emails will also be sent out on a regular basis.
- Fun Girl Dance has the right to update or change all policies, at any point. All students, parents, and guardians will be notified as soon as any changes are made.
Parent Questions or Concerns
- Please feel free to call or email the studio director at any time with any questions or concerns at [email protected] All concerns will be validated and together resolution will take place. All emails and calls will be returned right away. We ask that you please contact us with any issues that you may have before concerns escalate.
