Introducing Our Competitive Team

Dear Fun Girl Families,
We are excited to announce the launch of our Performance Company for Season 6! This is an opportunity for our students to get out on stage more often and build confidence through live performances. If your student has a passion for dance this is an opportunity for you! 
We will be holding Performance Company auditions for anyone placed in Technique and Choreography 1-4 on Saturday September 16th, 2023 from 11am to 1pm. Those who are auditioning are required:

• To wear all black 
  
• Arrive early enough to warm up
  
• Have their hair secured off their face 
  

Dancers accepted into the Performance Company will be placed into small groups. Performance Company acceptance and group placement will be announced via email on Sunday September 17th, 2023.
Dancers accepted into Performance Company are required to register for Performance Company Class and Rehearsal. Both taking place on Saturdays from 11am-2pm starting October 7th, 2023. Class will run from 11am-12pm. Rehearsal for group/solo/duet routines will run from 12pm-2pm. Performance Company dancers may be dismissed before 2pm, rehearsal dismissal is dependent on the number of pieces each dancer is in.

• Tuition for Performance Company class AND rehearsal is $80.00 a month.
  
• Matching competition jackets will be required and parents/guardians will be responsible for this cost.
  
• Solo/Duet fees are $150.00 for solos and $100.00 for duets due by March 1st, 2023.
  
• Costume fees are $50.00 for group pieces. Solo/duet costume fees start at $75. All Performance Company costume fees are due by December 1st, 2023.
  

These small groups and solos/duets (should a dancer choose to participate in a solo/duet) will then be taken to three competitions in the Metro-Detroit area come Spring 2024. All Performance Company routines will also be performed in the Season Ending Recital. We are currently working on scheduling 3 competitions, one in March, April, and May. 
Competitions have their own fees that families will be responsible for. 

• These fees are determined by the number of group/solo/duet routines your dancer participates in.
  
• These fees will be due in full by February 1st, 2024. 
  
• Families will be notified once competitions are booked with a price list of fees for each competition.
  

We understand that competitive dance can be intimidating to parents. Competitive dance is an opportunity for students to perform more regularly and build community with other studios in the area. We want to be clear that participating in the Performance Company will require an extra level of dedication and practice. However, this will still be about having fun and building confidence on stage and will not be about competition placements. We are happy to answer any questions and are excited to see everyone at auditions in September!
