Instruction Options
Dear Fun Girl Dance Families,
I hope you are doing well. The staff and I miss you very much. We are looking forward to opening this fall, as we are faced with implementing the necessary changes to address the concerns with COVID-19. I have developed schedules and operating parameters that should allow us to implement a full schedule, but we are creating options for instruction that will allow us some flexibility as well. Those options include the following 2 scenarios for dance instruction beginning September of 2020:
In-Studio Instruction- In person with limited class sizes and staggered class times which will allow for social distancing. Students who need a ride to class must be dropped off only, with the exception of the very youngest who can have a parent/guardian wait in the waiting area. Our office staff will be monitoring the door and directing dancers to their spots.
On-Line Instruction- On-Line instruction via Zoom for those wishing to only attend virtually. Instructors will be teaching from the studio with the available technology to ensure your child can maintain instruction. Students dancing from home will need a cleared area for dancing. We will be available to help you with flooring ideas that are easily accessible in your home, for example using a mat or a piece of masonite.
There are so many things for us to look forward to at Fun Girl with our new home, growing staff and class opportunities. Registration is currently open online, and we encourage all payments to be made online as well. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Chloe Gray

Definitions
- Self-monitoring- People should monitor themselves for fever by taking their temperatures twice a day and remain alert for cough or difficulty breathing. If they feel feverish or develop measured fever, cough, or difficulty breathing during the self-monitoring period, they should self-isolate, limit contact with others, and seek advice by telephone from a healthcare provider or their local health department to determine whether medical evaluation is needed.
- Social distancing- Remaining out of congregate settings, avoiding mass gatherings, and maintaining distance (approximately 6 feet or 2 meters) from others when possible.
- Symptoms compatible with COVID-19, for the purpose of these guidelines, include subjective or measured fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
- Cleaning refers to the removal of dirt and impurities, including germs, from surfaces. Cleaning alone does not kill germs. However, by removing the germs, it decreases their number and therefore any risk of spreading infection.
- Disinfecting works by using chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs. However, killing germs remaining on a surface after cleaning further reduces any risk of spreading infection.
- High-Touch Surfaces- Surfaces that have frequent contact with hands. This can include but is not limited to doorknobs, keyboards, handrails, locks, handles, ballet barres, etc.
- Isolation- The separation of a person or group of people known or reasonably believed to be infected with a communicable disease and potentially infectious from those who are not infected to prevent spread of the communicable disease. Isolation for public health purposes may be voluntary or compelled by federal, state, or local public health order.
- Quarantine- The separation of a person or group of people reasonably believed to have been exposed to a communicable disease but not yet symptomatic, from others who have not been so exposed, to prevent the possible spread of the communicable disease.
- Close contact is defined as:
• Having direct contact with infectious secretions of a COVID-19 case (e.g., being coughed on)
